Burberry x Harrods
We worked alongside fabricators & designers at Millimetre to help develop and detail a proposal for hanging fabric out the outside of Harrods. Working together we were able to engineer a solution that achieved Burberry’s design intent and worked with the restrictions imposed by the buildings grade 2 listing.
The scheme, installed by Sculptivate, stretches ripstop nylon over the underlying lightweight aluminium frame. The frame is made from multiple components to negotiate between the existing structure and the fabric elements.
Format performed the engineering design and connection detailing for all aluminium elements.
